I have now entered into a new facet in my web business and I will be selling domain names on a second site which is, Lightway web domains The site looks similar to my existing site. Many of you are probably familiar with domain names and how they work already, but any website has to register a domain each year to keep their website active. People usually register domain names in two year increments or longer. The cost of a domain name can vary and probably average around $15 per year, some higher and some lower. The trick to this business is advertising through Google and as you can imagine, there are many hundreds of places to purchase a domain name and in order to succeed, I need to be nearer to the top of search engines. I am also trying to find business and churches whose domain names may be coming up for renewal in the near future. It is possible and common to transfer domain names from one company to another. I am making a list of businesses and churches I know and plan to contact them to find out if they are willing to transfer their domain name and possibly save a small amount of money per year.
