Did you ever have those as kids? I remember having them with my family. Sometimes they were family Bible studies and sometimes meetings about something we were doing wrong or needed to change or sometimes in our house we had cleaning meetings… I remember getting to be the “Foreman” and be in charge of getting Hope and Lacey to get their room cleaned! It was fun! 🙂 Daddy remembers having some family meetings when he was growing up too.

We decided it was time to start having “FAMILY MEETINGS” in our household with you boys! The first one we had was the other night. We talked about FEARING GOD. Here’s a briefing on what we talked about with you. We discussed two types of fearing God. The first was REVERENCE for God. We are soo small and He is GOD. We should have respect for God, and show that respect to Him at all times (when we pray, talk or our attitude). He is the creator of the whole world. The second thing we talked about was Fearing Gods displeasure in us. We feel guilty when we sin (do bad things), and should be sorry because we made GOD unhappy with our sin, not Mommy and Daddy but God. God is angry with the wicked & HE WILL punish! He will punish all of us when we sin. We don’t want you to obey Mommy and Daddy to just be obeying us, but that you will learn that you obey to OBEY the Lord. You need to fear violating God’s standards. When you disobey you go against a HOLY perfect God who will deal out consequences for sinning against Him. We used some Bible stories to share the point that sin is something you do against God.
