The ENT Dr. doesn’t think Adam’s tonsils need to come out right now. He wants us to keep and eye on him when he sleeps. However, he is very concerned about Adam’s ears. They are both full of fluid. He was wondering if our pediatrician mentioned that he HAD ear infections. Dr. Gold did not. Just that he had a sinus infection. I guess with the fluid in the ears its pretty much considered infection (to Dr. Bayer). He wants to see Adam back in 4 weeks to make sure that cleared up! Some kids can have chronic ear fluid & infections. Me and my sisters had to have tubes we were always in to see Dr. Bayer and finally got the tubes and that solved the problem! He did say that Adam’s moodiness could be from the ear infections too!
Mean time he’s suppose to finish the antibiotics for his sinus infection (which will also help for the ear infections). Many times the boys go to Dr. Gold (our ped. who we really like!) and the Dr. will see FLUID, or lots of fluid, but never treats them for it.
I’m wondering if I ought to see Dr. Bayer more for the boys since it seems to be Ears, throat, and coughs for the most part whenever we need a Dr! Hmmmmm……
I had regular ear infections when I was little and tubes as well. I was so young I don’t remember having the tubes, but I do remember some of the ear infections….not fin at all! Hopefully the fluid will clear up for Adam!
I think it depends on the fluid. A viral ear infection can cause fluid but will not be helped by antibiotics so maybe that is why Dr. Gold did not prescribe anything?
I remember getting tubes…I had them in 3 times, also remember having my tonsils out, not fun but was fun that mom got me out of school early for like 2 weeks, she said that she just wanted to baby me, I enjoy it. LOL I’d ask Dr. Bayer if they need to be seen by him or by Gold. I know the girls have had fluid in there ears but it never went into anything more and never effected them. With all my ear problems as a child I’m surprised the girls never has had that much trouble.
