House update

Things are going along smoothly so far, except for the bank changing the locks on the house and the appraisal guy came yesterday to do the appraisal of the house and couldn’t get in. So the listing agent went and changed the locks again, but they haven’t come back out to do the appraisal yet. We are hoping soon! So far they haven’t been able to make contact. We are pretty sure (or so we have been told) that everything should be done by the 10th (but probably the 8th since the 1oth is a Sunday). We are hoping for that so we can have Sat. the 9th to work all day in the house. If not for sure by the week of the 1oth. Our friends and family in Christ, Pray that we can close on the 8th though. We have a friend that is coming out Thursday or Friday this week to look over the house and do the inspection for us. It was not required so we are grateful to not have to fork out $500-$600 to have that done with a report and all. The gas and electric should be turned on for a time so that the inspection can be done. Next week we will have the carpet guy come and measure and get it all set to order, so as soon as we close we can order the floor and carpet and plan a day to have that installed.

They said the only thing that could be a problem is if the appraisal is lower than our offer on the house. We really don’t think that will be the case, but just pray that it comes back a lot higher.

    We are praying and so excited for you guys! Just curious did they say why it would be an issue if the appraisal came in as less than your offer? I am pretty sure our house was appraised higher than our offer, but we got a super deal on our house!

    From what I understand, the bank will only loan the appraisal amount or less. If the appraisal comes in lower than our offer, we will only get a loan to cover the appraised value. It should not be a problem at all though because we got a good deal on this as well.
