Our Bardsdale Home

Boys, I’m kind of strange in the fact that I want to capture some shots of our house that we live in only for a few more weeks. I guess I just wanted to get some “still” shots in time of your first home! This so far has been your only home since we moved from our apartment in town when you (Gregory) were only a week old! I can remember moving in here and all the work we were doing before we moved. So hard after just giving birth to you. Daddy and I were so excited to be moving to the country and in a HOUSE! Only $700 in rent at the time (now up to 1050 a month). We were just thrilled to get to rent a house! So, almost NINE years we’ve lived in this little house. We’ve had to make due with space and seem to always have “space issues”, but we manage and we love being close! One bathroom, two bedrooms, living room and a basement (which we no longer use due to mold).

Both of you took MANY baths in our BIG kitchen sink! Its so easy to bathe a baby in a sink, just plop the little tub up there and the water is right there, nice and handy! Gregory you told me the other morning when we had the heater on that you would miss getting warm by the old wall heater we have. Although the new house has a fire place, which will be very nice when its chilly out!

It’s kind of silly because this is JUST A HOUSE and all things will BURN one day and none of this will mean anything! It’s sort of fun though to capture memories so that you can remember your early childhood days in our little farm house in Bardsdale! I hope you will always remember it being a home, a haven away from this world! We hope that our first home in town that we are buying will be the first step in getting us back the country! We will try to make it just as special as this house was. Love you boys!
Love,
Mommy

well, I for one, don’t think you are silly to take pictures and hold on to the memories…a good idea, in fact. Although, it is indeed true as you say that our material possessions are basically meaningless and will all be dust someday!

What a special post. I’m the same way. I have tons of photos or our last house since my kids were littles while living there. Precious memories made there too! I’m glad you took pictures!

One thing I miss from when we lived in an older ranch house was the old heater! I was the same way as your boys, getting dressed on cold mornings by the heater vent. I can so relate.

Cute little house. The house I grew up in with the 4 of us was very small too. So weird for me to think about that house now… definitely A LOT of memories. So, any pics of the new house? Which one is this again?? Is it that one by your mom & dad??
