Adam woke coughing and had fever this morning. I took him in to the Dr. They did a nose and throat culture on him that came back negative for Influenza and strep throat. However Dr. Gold is saying he has the flu and yes, the swine flu (and 99% of people right now have swine flu). He said being that today is the starting of it the test sometimes does come back negative. Being that Adam is asthmatic and I’m pregnant (due to pop anytime) he wanted Adam to get started on the Tama flu. He also wants me to call my OB and let her know Adam has it. Not sure what she will want me to do? They have run out of this medicine for kids all over, so they have to compound it. I found a pharmacy in Santa Paula that will compound it so that Adam can take it.

Basically I guess “flu” season hasn’t started so most people have the swine flu now? Also the swine flu hits more kids than the influenza, I’m told.

Adam was showing all the signs of the flu so Dr. Gold is getting him on the meds right away. He is not contagious once he’s been fever free for 24 hours they told me.

Please pray that the rest of us can not get this and especially for me and the baby. I hear its worse on pregnant women! Thanks
