Homemade baby food, YUM!

With Luke Samuel I wanted to try making my own baby food for him. Wanted to do it for fun but also for other reasons!
Homemade food is better for your baby! Its just the natural stuff (nothing added to it!) Its also cheaper to make your own baby food. I’m using reusable jars, and ice cube trays and it didn’t cost a lot to buy the food!!
Today we made carrots, sweet potatoes, applesauce and fresh from the garden the very first zucchini squash and crookneck yellow squash (more to come of that soon!)
The boys had fun helping peel the apples. Thanks Hope for letting us barrow the apple peeler!
Making your own baby food is not hard! Just takes a little more time then stopping at the store and buying a jar! I put some in jars to freeze up and some in ice cube trays and bagged those up.I will be doing peas, green beans, corn, and more fruit and squash too. Pretty soon he won’t need it pureed and I’ll just use my table grinder.
Tonight Luke got to eat the first garden squash. He loved it!

I made some of my own for Brayden but if and when we have more, I plan on making all the food too. It is healthier, but really, its SO much cheaper! My friend Elissa had a book of awesome recipes for baby food. I will ask her for the title for you. I definitely plan on buying it for our next one. I tried some of the ones she had made when we visited her in September last year, and Brayden loved them!

so did you seal all the jars? I'll have to start doing that when Matthew gets to eating! Good that he likes it, kind of doubt there will be much that Luke doesn't like. lol

This is SO awesome!! Especially that a lot of it is coming from your own garden! If I had it to do over… LOL
