Things to remember, Luke Samuel 11 1/2 months

I decided to blog a little about Luke, things I want to record and put in his baby book. Most of the times I write in his book, but tonight I have some time as Brian and I sit here watching a Matlock DVD. Feel free to read if you like, or skip this post if its too long and drawn out…..

Luke is on the go pulling up to furniture, walking around the coffee table or anything he pulls himself up to. He comes to a standing position for a few minutes. One night last week he took ONE step!! No real walking yet, but he’s so close! He’s got eight teeth and getting his four first year molars.

I’ve always LOVED rocking my sweet babies. I figure, they are only little babies for such a short while, why not enjoy that snuggle time and rock them?! Recently we’ve been able to rock Luke and lay him down sleepy and he will drift off to dream land (sometimes for naps, or night night time). Although lately with those teeth coming in, he’s more clingy to Mommy and Daddy! He’s even starting waking once in the night again (some nights, anyway..). Brian and I LOVE when we scoop him up and his little head lays right down on our shoulder! Cutest thing! When you wake from naps first thing you grab is your little mini toy story books, and you love to show us your books and open them to a BUZZ page.

Luke’s new thing is holding his hands UP for TOUCH DOWN! With his Daddy and brothers (Uncles, Grandparents) into football…. he was bound to learn this sooner than later! It’s pretty cute…. We say TOUCH DOWN and up goes the arms!

Anytime anyone leaves the room or out the door, he waves and says “baa” for BYE. He still says buu for Buzz. Kiiiiiiii for Kitty. Da for Dog. He still leans in when we say “can I have a kiss” and opens his mouth, or leans in for you to kiss him.

Mmmmmmm is one of Luke’s favorite sayings whenever FOOD is present or if he is hungry! Even while nursing with Mommy, he’ll come off and look up at me and say “mmmm”. He loves to eat! He’s a pretty good eater and enjoys all foods. I still nurse Luke often as well.

We haven’t left Luke in the nursery on Sunday mornings yet, since he still naps during the church service. Although he stays in the nursery on Wed evenings. He’s having a tough time staying in the nursery, and cries. We come to rescue him as soon as we are done teaching. In time he will get used to it, we hope! 🙂
Luke Samuel is a sweet joy to all of us! Gregory and Adam adore him and can’t wait to come spend time with you as soon as you wake up in the morning! Gregory and Adam are pretty protective as well, they like to keep him from harms way and are always willing to lend a helping hand!

Luke, you make us laugh every single day! We are savoring every moment with you, our sweet baby boy!
Thank you Lord for giving us this joy!
