Luke Samuel 16 months today!

The time sure has zoooooomed by with this kid! He’s a bucket of joy! He’s on the go little baby (or should I call him a toddler?)

  • He pretty much has the walking down pat and actually takes off running at times
  • He loves his kitties, and one of them loves him back very much.
  • He’s all boy and loves to rough around outside and get dirty, pick up rocks, and dig in mud.
  • The new sand box is is favorite thing the past few days.
  • He adores our chickens and begs to get in the coop all the time.
  • Eating…. he loves to eat and really doesn’t know how to stop! Yikes!
  • Pop got a box of fresh tangerines and his favorite thing is to bring Pop one to peel for him to eat.  Yesterday I was changing him and said “wanna go see Pop” as I handed him a tangerine.  He got so excited and ran to the front door.  I let him go “on his own” to see where he would end up and he walked right now to Pop/Granma’s house.  He was so excited to get Pop to peel his tangerine.  It was pretty cute.
  • He makes the cutest “pickle face” when he’s eating a pickle and the boys crack up.  Now he makes this face every night at dinner, even when he doesn’t have a pickle! Its pretty darn cute! He’s sort of doing it in the picture above.
  • Yes, he’s still nursing two times.  I started to stop the morning one this morning, but didn’t work out so well.  I’m thinking by April for sure he will be weaned.  He loves his mommy! 🙂 I love those times too.  Adam was weaned at 15 months, and Gregory 12 months. Each one goes a little longer.  No harm! Just a tired pregnant mommy!
  •  For the most part he lays down awake to go to sleep (naps and bed), sometimes he looks for daddy or I and we have to point and tell him to lay down, or sometimes yes we do give in and rub his back a little, and sometimes he just has to cry a little.
  • We love reading books to him.  His favorites are the animal ones.
  • His daddy is a favorite! He wakes up and says “Da” and looks all over for him.  At lunch time he starts looking through the window (Brian comes home for lunch) and calling “Da” until he comes home! Its really very sweet!
  • He does YELL out “Owwww” when he’s being bothered by a big brother or even if he “thinks” he is going to be bothered.  It does get annoying, especially when the big brothers are NOT doing a thing to him! He has gotten spanked for this little thing he does. It can be very loud when we are out too.
  • List of things he says Mama (not as often as Da though), Da (daddy), Kiiiii (kitty), Baa (for ball or bottle), mmmm (food), ehhh (when he wants something), grre grre (gregory), Bu (Buzz), he growls for dinos, monster characters, and dogs.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a million things, but that’s it for now.  He’s a joy and is in for a rude awakening the end of August!
