So this blog is just little snippets of the fun parts of our life and I rarely post normal everyday Mom things! But I thought I’d just do a day in the life of a wife and Mom to four boys! My afternoon got hectic and I just thought it’d be fun to have this written down in a book one day when I’m old and grey and can look back and remember how these days were……..

5:00 woke to my little snorty baby wanting to be fed.  Brian got up to get him and give to me in bed.  He nursed and drifted back to sleep.  As I nursed I had some quiet prayer time.  I couldn’t get back to sleep. So, I decided to turn on my little book light and read my Bible in bed before starting the day. 

6:30 came fast.  I was hoping to walk the boys to school today.  I got up, partially got dressed and ready.  Nope, walking to school wasn’t going to happen.  My foot (plantar Faciatis was really bothering me this morning)  Brian decided to go in to work early today since he had to leave early to help someone with a computer problem.  He was coming back to get the boys for me today.

6:45 woke Adam.  Gregory already up and ready to go.  I started breakfast (eggs, bagels and Gregory cooked sausage).  While the eggs were cooking I quickly grabbed Gideon and changed his very wet diaper. 

Called to Adam, to hurry up! He’s always sooo slow in the mornings getting ready for school!

7:10 sitting down to eat (after calling Adam a few more times!!), helping the kids get what they needed.  Luke still asleep (not normal, but since he’s teething, thought I’d let him get some extra sleep). 

7:15 Brian calls from the office, he was suppose to come at 7:15 to help Pop with something, but Pop didn’t want him to come til 9:00 so now I have to finish getting ready (face washed, out of pjs etc..) so I can get the boys to school.  Brian was going to bring the boys this morning but since he didn’t have to come back by, I figured I’d just bring them. 

7:25 comes and Gregory is rushing to get going.  He likes to get to school early.  I grab a bagel to bring to Brian and tell Gregory to make sure it gets in the car.  I go back to get Luke out of the crib.  All he wants is Daddy, and doesn’t want to get out of the crib.  I get him, then he cry’s for his dinosaurs.  We grab two huge dinos.  I’m rushing trying to get out the door.  I set Luke down, hoping he will follow me.  I scoop up Gideon and head out the door.  Luke cuts in front of me, I knock him to the floor, he crys, I told him sorry, I continue to the car, he finally follows.  I load up Gideon.  I load up Luke.  Luke’s crying because I have to take the dinos away from him in order to buckle the seat belt.  Guess he doesn’t realize I’ll hand them right back! 

7:40  finally on our way to school

7:50 I drop off Adam, call Brian and tell him to pop out of his office to get his bagel.  Apologized for it not being the eggs and sausage that I had made( I didn’t have enough hands to get a plate together and bring up with me… )  Hope calls and tells me my front door is left open.  Thankfully the screen shut and I was coming right back.
 
8:00 get home, set Gideon down in front of Baby songs for a bit, and set Luke in the high chair to eat his eggs since he woke later this morning, while they are doing this I run through the house to get a couple things done (cleaned the toliets, bathroom sinks, started a load of laundry, picked up the kitchen, got part of dinner started, green beans in the crock pot & rice set in the rice cooker).

8:30 Mom pops over for us to read a little in our book (we do Bible study on some Tuesdays) since we both hadn’t read ahead of time.  She had to wait for me to get Luke set in the playpen, get the tea ready (no water on…. BK forgot to put it on last night), so I heated up the tea water, made tea.
 
8:50 sat down with Gideon to rock him, Mom read while I nursed and rocked him to sleep.  Ahhhh nice and peaceful Bible study.  Good chatting and discussion time. 

9:15 lay Gideon down for morning nap and finish study with Mom.

9:45 Finish up study and Mom leaves. I start another load of laundry, play trains with Luke, sweep the kitchen, get a snack for Luke, clean the counters, set the table for dinner (yes, I do this early occasionally, gets crazy around dinnertime, nice to have it all done sometimes), bring in laundry & pile on my bed to fold when I get the time, get on the computer for 5 mins to start a Christmas present I’m making for someone, tried to get on amazon to order something but got interrupted (will have to do that later)

11:00 Gideon gets up, happy as can be, loves his thumb.  We talk, we play 🙂

11:30 lunch with Luke, called Faith to chat for a few minutes

12:00 nap time for Luke.  Lay him down in his crib with a few books and “guys” to play with. I wrapped the boys Christmas PJ’s that we will give them tomorrow on “tree day”

1:00 Gideon is really ready to eat.  I nurse him.  Normally he goes down for his second nap at this time.   He’s still wide awake after eating.  He normally goes right to sleep.  I put him in swing.  He drifted off.  I came out to finish up something for dinner, and start another load of laundry.  Went back in to transfer him to his bed.  Bad idea.  Should have left him in the swing.  He woke and cried a lot.  I was gonna take some time to blog a bit at that time, but he needed me.  So I got him and tried to nurse him. He just wanted to go to sleep but was mad that I woke him. 

So finally by 2:15 he’s nursing and going back to sleep.  By this time though Luke has already been awake and crying.  Not sure if Gideon’s crying woke him or the washer (his crib is by the wall that the washer is on in the laundry room). Adam comes in the door (Hope brings him home after school).

2:30 Luke is up.   Normally sleeps til 3:30.  So, he’s up and grumpy! I’m tired because I’m still fighting a cough and today I have a bit of a sore throat.  I’m ready to relax and take a nap myself.  Thankfully I had a little quiet time with the Lord first thing, that doesn’t always happen first thing these days!

2:40 Get Adam a snack and settled with something calm since he doesn’t nap anymore.  Although he insists upon activating Luke and getting him giggly and wild.  Had to get on him about that.

3:00 I sit down for just a few minutes to take a break start this “day in the life” post, but was interrupted at least 5 times by Luke needing something, crying one of the times.  

3:20 Brian and Gregory get home and I leave for a chiro appt. that I have set for 3:30.  Much needed!!  Older boys went out to ride bikes with the girls.

4:30 home from the chiropractor.  Now its time to get moving on dinner.  Tonight we had BBQ Salmon, rice (thankful for the rice cooker), fresh green beans (thankful for the crock pot and prepping these things in the morning). I also decided to make some ooooey gooey yummy sticky buns for desert.  Super easy recipe that I got off of Pinterest.  I whipped those up to go in the oven.  Got the Salmon on the BBQ (Brian helped BBQ them).  Made a plate for my parents tonight.  Called the boys in from riding bikes and we all sat down to eat 5:15.  It was sooo yummy! Some food got stuck in my throat, I had to excuse myself from the table and throw up.  Gross I know… but the flem in my throat must have been causing it to get stuck?! It hurt pretty bad.  Finally got back out to join the family for dinner.  We all enjoyed visiting and having dinner together.  Gideon bounced in the bouncer.  Battle getting Gregory to eat his green beans (always is!) 

5:45 pulled desert out from the oven.  Now its time for clean-up.  Pulled more laundry out and dumped on the hugely growing mountain on my bed, that I haven’t had time to get to.  Hey, at least I’ve washed it all though.  Brian helps out by folding and putting it away.  Thank you babe, for helping!  I take the time to nurse the baby.  He’s happy.  He gets changed and in his sleeper.  Luke and Adam get in the bath.  We finish folding clothes.  Gregory gets ready for basketball practice.  I visit with him about school, and sports.  Brian takes him to his first practice.  He was so excited!

7:30 I finally get to mop the floor, something I tried to do several times during the day.  Adam and Luke play in the family room.  Then Adam and I looked through the build a bear clothes, he wanted to pull out all the Christmas clothes for his stuffed animals.  That was fun.

7:45 We skipped reading to Luke tonight because he needed to get on to bed.  He was over tired.  He went to bed and “read” in bed tonight.  I sat on the couch and read books with Adam while I nursed Gideon.  Was thinking Gideon was going on to sleep.  Not the case.  Not sure if he was so awake because of the tea I drank today or what?!  We practiced Awana verses together.  He did awesome.  Then off to bed for Adam. 

8:00 Decided to skip clearing the rest of our bed and “play” with my camera a little and take some pictures of Gideon wearing a sleeper that I got years ago for a special sweet baby.  He was happy to let me take a few pictures.  Then Gregory gets home, showered and in bed.  Practice was fun for him.  He’s excited about another scrimage coming this weekend. 
8:30 back to rocking/nursing.  Gideon wanted me to stand and sway with him it seemed.  Spoiled little guy, because I did what he needed.  (although my foot did not want to stand anymore…)  Then on to bed finally by 9:00 (normally he’s in bed by 8:00).  Brian gets out of the shower and we finally get to visit.  He needed to finish a job on the computer so I decided to finish this post and look through the pictures I took of Gideon.


9:30 watch a little TV, visit with Brian and then hit the hay.

Mopping bathrooms
Finish cleaning the bathrooms
Vacuum the house
Walk
play outside
more online christmas shopping
Fill the Advent calendar that we will start Thursday
children’s church schedule changes
more Bible study time
…oh well … there is always tomorrow…
