Taking time to cherrish

After a 13 hour day today of just having fun family time.  Its nice to get home, get the kids in bed and sit.  Sit and rock my sweet little Gideon after he had a nice bath.  I think one of my all time favorite things as a mom is rocking my sweet babies.  I love to nurse them, and rock them to sleep.  I love to feel his sweet little breath as we sit in the quiet living room. Tonight I sat and watched the lights twinkle on the tree and just listened to him as he slept.  I never want to forget these moments that will be gone in the blink of an eye.  After all it wasn’t that long ago that I was doing the same thing to Gregory and he’s already 11 1/2.  I don’t want to rush through these days that my kids are still young and small and not take the time to cherish the moments.  Not only the sweet baby moments.  But take time for teachable moments, moments that I can use to mold them and train them up as God wants.
Lord I pray that you use me in their life.  Help me to lead them and show them the right paths to take.  Help me to be patient and compassionate.  Help me to always show love and never loose sight of the important things in this life.  Lord, help me to slow down and take time to have fun with them and enjoy them.  Help me to not rush through this life.  Help me to take time to cherish these moments.
