We called the hospital and all his lab tests came back NEGATIVE! Praise the Lord. Dr. Gold (our pediatrician) believes that Gideon had Aseptic or viral meningitis. I looked it up and read about it a little. Thankfully its not the bacterial kind. That can be pretty bad I guess.
I’m just so thankful he’s ok! The anti seizure medication (keppra) seems to have some side effects. Gideon seems tired more, kind of “out of it” I would say some of the times. Then other times when its time for sleep he’s so wide awake and sometimes a little more fussy than usual.
For now, he’s on that medication every 12 hrs. We see Dr. Goldie March 27th. We are to monitor Gideon and if he gets sick or runs a fever I need to get him into the Dr. to have him checked over. If another seizure happens we are to get him on his side, and take him to the hospital. Its up to us if we call 911 or not. We are to call 911 if its lasting more than 5 mains. Wow, the 2 min one he had felt like an HOUR! I can’t imagine what a 5 min. one would be like! Praying he never has another one!
