Luke Samuel 2 1/2 years old today

My sweet baby Luke Samuel, these 2 1/2 years have just zoomed by. You are so adorable and make us all laugh daily! You are a funny guy! Your big blue eyes get even bigger when you are telling us something serious, scary or very important.  You are starting to be more picky with food, still not as bad as Gregory though.  You sleep in your own room still in your crib.  At night you will often need Daddy to rub/tickle your back.  You adore your daddy! You love to sit with me when I’m feeding Gideon.  You love to read books with me.  You like to be my little “helper”.  We love to hear you talk.  You can’t pronounce “L’s” so you call yourself “GOOK” and look is “GOOK”.  You are talking a lot more these days and its soo cute!

You can be very serious and very silly.  You know your colors very well.  You are starting to count really good too (sometimes out of order and its so cute to hear that…) Very smart little kid you are! You are a great big brother to Gideon.  You love to make him laugh and you are a big helper getting him toys to play with.  You like to keep up with your big brothers too.  You are actually really good on your 3 wheel scooter and try to keep up with them scootering around.  You love your cousins “Maffew” and Grace.  Maffew and you get along great and its fun having him right across the street to play with.  You love going to Aunt Hope’s house to play.  You get so excited when Grace comes into town too.   You are adventurous and love to explore things!  I love that about you.  You are very good about saying THANK YOU and YOUR WELCOME.  You are also very good about reminding us to pray.  You pray oh so cute.  I know you don’t know Jesus yet but your prayers are precious.

Favorite things:  Still dinosaurs are #1 (especially T-rex or ones with “raaar teeth” as you call it), Trains, you love going by the trains up town and over tracks.  We don’t seem to get lucky enough to see them pass by much! Soaps, you are too funny with bars of soaps.  You LOVE them! I wish my grandmother was around.  She used to tell me all the time how I used to love little soaps.  You smell them, carry them around and make us smell them too.  Snails and bugs, you will spend hours playing and finding them! Chickens, you still love chickens and collecting eggs.  You especially like to go to Levi’s and get in the big coop with them.

You love your Pop! You two are buddies! You got to go on a quick ride the other day with pop.  (notice the snail in your hand).  You get so excited to tell Pop things.  Sometimes I hear you jabber on about telling pop this and that.  Sometimes if we are out front and you see Pop get into his truck you YELL POP.  He doesn’t always look or hear you but you try your hardest to get him to notice you waving or yelling at him.  Its really cute.

You still nap 12-3:30 normally.  You go to bed around 8:00.  Still wearing #6 diapers but have gone poop a few times in the potty.  We probably need to start training.  You would GET IT quick we think.  Just haven’t made the move yet. Dr. Gold says just wait until 3 years.  You loved talking to Dr. Gold today about T-rex.  Dr. Gold loves those kind of dinos too.  He got a picture of “sue” a very big t-rex skeleton in Chicago and he brought it in to show you.  You were thrilled!  We hope to get up to Santa Barbara to take you and your brothers to see the new dino exhibit (even though we are sure it won’t be based on creation.  Would be fun to see).
Weight: 29 lbs 11 oz (50%)
Height: 38 inches (90 %)
You got a Hep A shot today.  Dr. Gold told of a family who was from Great Britian who sends their kids to the Ventura County district who has an outbreak of measles! They didn’t get the vaccine.
I love you Luke Samuel and love when you say “I wuv you” back.
