Luke Samuel turns 3

I have so many posts but haven’t had time lately to get on the computer to post them.  Today though I think about my sweet Luke Samuel.  As I sit down in the quiet after all the party stuff, I think back on how we prayed for you Luke! Here is a post we wrote the month you were born.

“We didn’t decide for sure on his name until we saw him. Samuel kept
coming to my mind and heart because of the meaning! So we knew that
would play a part in his name!

Samuel means: Asked of God.
We prayed for this child and the Lord has granted us what we asked of Him.
1 Samuel 1:27

Our
family keeps a prayer journal and we can go back pretty far (3 or so
years) and we prayed for this little guy. I even wrote down word for
word prayers of Gregory and Adam, asking God for a new baby. God gave
us our hearts desire on November 15th.

We decided to go with Luke
as the first name because it also holds a special part in our hearts.
Spring had a brother who passed away at 13 months (she never got to meet
him) and we wanted to carry on his name. Also her baby brother Levi’s
middle name is LUKE and its kind of neat to be named after some special
people. When it all comes down to it though…. the way it flows is
probably why we chose the order that we did. And I got out voted by
Brian, Gregory and Adam several times!

So, there you have it……. the story of his name. I kind of like saying Luke Samuel too. Me and Adam do”

I loved remembering your birth on this POST and you were a BIG boy but one of my best births!

Luke, you have brought so much incredible joy into our lives.  You make us all LAUGH daily! You are funny and so sweet.  You are a great helper! You are very bossy, stubborn and have a very controlling personality.  You scrunch up your nose, and your eyes get big when you are being very serious about something you are telling us.  You love wearing flip flops and boots.  You love your “girl” (hen) and play with her daily.  You think she is the cutest thing ever and you like to bring her in for “2 minutes” everyday.  Everything is always “2 minutes” or “5 minutes”.  Pretty much every night you need Daddy to come tickle your back as you drift to sleep.  If he doesn’t come in you come out with a scrunch up demanding face saying “daddy come tickle my back”.  We all laugh.  You have been into dinosaurs since you were ONE and still are very much into them.  You love to ride your 3 wheel scooter, and you have to bring it inside all the time and sometimes in the car to places we go.  You are potty trained! Still wear a pull up at night just in case, but you trained so fast a few months back.  You are very smart! You love play dough and it can entertain you for hours! You love little guys and playing with them, normally with a dinosaur too!

That’s all my mind can think of right now.  Love you baby boy.  Hopefully I’ll get to more pictures and other posts up at some point this week!
