November 20th.  We had to wake Gideon up SUPER early.  5:15 AM and he normally sleeps until 6:30 or 7:00.  I was worried he was going to be a GRUMP.  Nope.  He was super happy with his Kitty and blanket on the way to Oxnard Hospital to get TUBES in.

Gregory, such a great big brother to pack LEGOS (Gideon’s favorite) in our hospital bag.  They came in handy while we waited in the waiting room!

 Once we got registered and in the gown…. he wasn’t happy.  All he wanted was something to drink.  We couldn’t give him anything though.  So we did everything to calm him down. Finally pulled out the phone with Mickey on it.  If you know Gideon…. you know he has this exceptionally LOUD cry… louder than any kid/baby I have ever heard.  He’s got a deep voice.  So were TRYING to be considerate of the other patients. 

 I gotta say… the hardest thing is watching him get loopy with the meds they gave him before they took him back to put him under.  It was funny but also SUPER hard….. I just freak out knowing they were going to put my baby to sleep.  I know its just TUBES… but still…… This also brought back a lot of memories of the many times we were in the hospital with Gideon’s seizures.

The surgery was FAST and worked GREAT.  We were in the waiting room and before the Dr. even came….. we could HEAR GIDEON’S LOUD cry!! One thing that gave us comfort too is that the Dr. was a believer.  He prayed with us before he took Gideon back to do the surgery.  God is awesome! It has been a week now since the surgery and Gideon is doing AWESOME! We already see so many great improvements!! His hearing, his response, he’s trying harder to mimic, and even his walking is better! God is good!!!
