Titus will be 7 months tomorrow! Wow! We never got him in for 6 month check up. We had him scheduled today.
He’s 27 1/2 inches in height
20 pounds and 11 oz
He’s got two bottom teeth and the two top are VERY swollen and Dr. Gold said probably sore!! Titus has an EAR INFECTION right now too and will be on antibiotics. He’s been waking a lot during naps and night in pain!! Titus is a very good baby and a good “sick” baby too. When his temp reaches over 102 though he’s not comfy and very sad!!
Gideon has been on and off sick since before Christmas it seems!! With a lingering cough and now just got a worse cough on top of it! He’s on antibiotics for that and a steroid medication as well. Also drops for the eye since the Dr. thinks it might be pink eye and wanted to get it treated. He also wants Gideon doing neb treatments 3 times a day to help get those airways opened up good. Last night Gideon coughed alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll night long.
Gideon has been taking his medication in a bottle for months now since he was stubborn about taking the keppra any other way. Between that and the way his teeth are made he has a couple cavities. The dentist told us they would need to sedate him in order to fill them and that alone was going to cost a lot of money. Gideon’s tonsils are huge and they don’t want to do the little drink that just makes them loopy because that relaxes the muscles and might pose a breathing problem to Gideon during the fillings. Upon calling to make the appt. we have to pay for the anesthesiologist up front and the dentist will work out a payment plan for the work done. We just aren’t sure its something we want to do. We are concerned and don’t want any nerves getting messed up or the older teeth coming in either. However, Brian is reading a book called cure teeth decay and has researched that cavities can naturally “fix” themselves with the proper treatment (CLO, butter oil etc…) …. So we are researching how to naturally treat this. We don’t want to have to spend a fortune on baby teeth!
Gideon is set for his EEG at Children’s Hospital on Jan. 22nd. He’s suppose to be “tired” when he goes. That ought to be interesting since he goes down for nap at 12 normally! They are looking for any little blips of seizures (ones you don’t always SEE in physical form). I am praying that if Gideon is experiencing these that they will SHOW up on this EEG. Its not a %100 of a test they say but sometimes it picks up something. We have to do this in order to see the new neurologist on Feb 11th (a Children’s Neurologist that comes up to Valencia clinic). I’m hoping and praying we like this guy and will be able to use him for Gideon. If not, its square one again… searching for a good one. It was our hopes to start weaning him off the keppra this month. Makes me nervous…. but God is in control and we have to do this at some point!
