Something was said to us last night at our first Biblical Counsel session last night that really hit both Brian and I.  God can take this trial away RIGHT NOW if He wanted to.  God is ABLE to do that.  It was a really good reminder that God is doing something in our life right now.  Often times we don’t know exactly why we are going through trials.  We don’t know what God might be trying to teach us or how He wants to grow us through them.  However, the Bible commands us to ASK God for wisdom.  I think we need to be praying specifically for wisdom in situations that come up in life.  He’s gonna give us that wisdom, I have faith in that.  James 1:5 tells us “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” 

So often we get in the thick of a hard life situation and we act like the disciples in the story where Jesus calms the storm (Matthew 8:23-27).  We might feel like we gotta figure things out on our own or that God’s not going to work through things.   When we truly understand who God is, we KNOW that He controls everything.  Even the winds and the waves OBEY Him.  Surely, we can lean on God’s power to help us through the storms in our life.  He is willing.  We just have to ask, wait and listen!
