Summer is coming to an END!!!

I can’t believe we are starting SCHOOL THIS WEEK! Is that just crazy?!! Did the summer literally just fly by!?  It did for me.

Most years school starting back is kinda bittersweet.  Its always good to get back in a routine and get short breaks from some of the kids (ha ha) .  This year…. I just don’t want Summer to end! I’ve enjoyed our low key Summer! Not ready for the hustle and bustle of School mornings and afternoon homework! I think I’ve been in denial about School starting this week!

Gregory 10th grade
Adam 6th grade (middle school)
Luke (Kindergarten)
Gideon (Special Ed Preschool)
My babies Titus and Annie Mae get to be with me at home still

Our town now has three Elementary schools.  We are zoned for the new school in town, Rio Visita, across the 126.  Adam went there for 8 months in his 4th grade year.  Even though I love some of the teachers there we have a bunch of reasons I want Luke to go to the school directly up the street from us.  We have two children who have special needs and take extra time to care for.  Gideon is almost 4 and attends the special Education preschool at the old Sespe School.  He needs extra care and attention in many ways.  Lately he has been a little more hard to handle and its been a little difficult.  By having Luke attend a school closer, it will make it helpful for us as parents to better tend to both of the boys.  His older brother Adam also has some special needs and goes to a little school up the street from Gideon.
Loosing Pop in May has been really hard on Luke.  He has good days and then some pretty tough days.  He was very very close to Pop and has been dealing with this loss hard. He also lost a very very loved pet two weeks before his Pop died. He has a lot going on in his little head and the grieving process has been taking a toll on him.  Thinking of Kindergarten is just adding to the stress of  this little 5 year old! He has met the teachers at Mountain Vista and we are friends with one of them and this will be a huge comfort for him to go somewhere where he is comfortable for his first real school year.  He also knows that Mountain Vista is just a walk away up the street from where we live and this brings him a lot of comfort and security, which for him, I think is really needed this time in his life!!

I’m still waiting to hear back from the assistant Super Intendant if he gets to move to Mountain Visita School.   One good thing if he has to go to Rio Visita, his cousin Matthew will be at that school and the kindergarten teacher we had for Gregory and Adam will be there too.

God, its in your hands.  I’m doing ALL I can to help Luke get to Mountain Vista.
