This is a little squirrel that Luke gave Pop when he was in the hospital.  He had wanted to get it for Pop for Valentines Day and we were a little late getting it.  This is the squirrel that Pop named Luke-aka and Luke was so proud to have given it to him! It stayed with Pop during that tough time.  All the way ’til the end.  Luke hasn’t wanted to take it.  Mom kept it on her bed and just yesterday he grabbed it up, gave it a HUGE hug with a smile on his face and wanted to take him home.  I don’t think Granma was ready to part with him yet, but she had told him when he was ready he could have him! He refused a while back to take him.  I’m glad Granma let him take him.  I think its helping his hurt heart!

 He hasn’t let it down since.  He even took him to school and vacuumed, and ate breakfast holding him.

He misses Pop! We all do

But, I’m so glad to see a little love and not ANGER about this silly stuffed animal.

He was working on a birthday gift for my mom and out of the blue he says “what if Granma dies”.  I know it is hard to him to LOVE someone like he loved Pop again.  It hurts! But I told him, it is better to have loved someone than to never have loved.
