Bamboo Lilly …. the real story
Some of you may not remember the story that Pop told of Bamboo Lilly. Just to re-cap a little: Many many years ago the dam broke and Bamboo Lilly was washed out of her home. Her husband died when the flood happened and that was very hard on her. I don’t think Pop ever mentioned much of that. He is the only one that has seen her and talked with her that I know of. She is a strange lady and ugly too. We’ve often wondered about her because we have never really seen her to talk to her. Sometimes on these hayrides we see things or our eyes play tricks on us and we think we see things because its so dark! Pop told us that she wandered around in the riverbed after that dam broke. I guess she never found a home and liked being out in the nature. People are scared of her because she is so ugly. She’s getting really old but she is healthy and doing good from what I hear. She doesn’t say much. She’s kinda quiet and she wishes people would show her kindness. From what I’ve learned about her; she is quite the animal lover. She likes to help animals that are hurt. She’s been seen in the riverbed rescuing birds that have hurt their wings, ducks, wolf pups who hurt its paw, dogs, owlets who don’t have a mama, and many other animals. People always make up mean stories about her saying she likes to eat animals and people, but that is only because they don’t know the truth. She’s is afraid sometimes though because she’s all alone. Remember Pop has talked to her. He told us in 2014 that she was out looking for a husband. I don’t think she ever found one! I think she has settled in now being alone. Seems like around this time every year people see her roaming the riverbed. Its warmer out so she’s out and about at night and looking out. Not looking to be mean to people but she’s looking for hurt animals to help! Sometimes on the hayride we see animals. If we see any or hear any….. look out because you might see Bamboo Lilly offering to help.
There was talk of PALM BRANCH POLLY too?? Not sure if she is real or not?
