Cody’s name was THE MOST difficult name to choose out of all of my children!
We thought (crazy us) that opening up a discussion of some of the names would be fun. Little did we realize that would be making it more difficult to decide on a name for our little “CODE MAN”.
We went for WEEKS going between SIMON KENNETH and LEO KENNETH, I would write it out with our whole family and see how it looked. I really really like Leo and I for sure wanted to use my dad’s name for his middle name. I also liked Simon. Brian was on the fence as to which of those we would use. We were so “wishy washy ” and just couldn’t put our finger on which name to choose!! My Mom and sister Faith can attest to my wishy washiness! HA HA ! Having a 19 yr old and a 15 yr old weigh in…. was NOT helpful. They were coming up with their own list to present to us as well.
One night about a WEEK before Cody was born Brian came in saying something along the lines of “let’s name him Cody”! I think he had just seen Cody Bellinger do some cool play on the Dodgers or something and that name just went “ding ding ding” in his head! I immediately answered “no way”. I was not about to name a child of mine after a BASEBALL PLAYER!!!! NO WAY! Brian tried to convince me it wasn’t about the baseball player but more that he just liked the name.
The next day the kids heard about the name CODY. They all got on the bandwagon and rooted for Cody!
We got home one evening a day or two before he was born, from a date or running some errands and the house was plastered with VOTE FOR CODY signs! Both Brian and I laughed! I finally put my foot down though and told everyone, “I’m the one PUSHING THIS BABY OUT, so I WILL BE THE ONE TO DECIDE!” Of course I knew it was between Brian and I.
After he came…… I knew it had to be CODY KENNETH. No real reason. I just knew in my head that it needed to be that.

I love Cody Kenneth and I think you did a good job with your other children’s names. Go ahead and be thinking about the next name. Love, Bobry
