We took Luke to the Dr. today for a cough he’s had now for a while. He actually has a sinus infection and is now on antibiotics. While there Dr. Gold wanted to look over Gideon. He said Gideon looked healthy and seems fine with no sickness that he can see. He thought maybe we should do some blood work just to check levels and thought Dr. Morrison might want to up the Keppra dose.
Dr. Morrison called tonight. She couldn’t have called at a worse time, but I’m thankful she called me today. I did my best and finding a quiet spot so I could somewhat think while we talked. She did say that a “breath-holding” situation could cause him to seize. She said that Luke biting him didn’t cause it, but the breath-holding (if that is what even happened) could have put him into that state possibly. Right now Gideon is on 1 ML 3 times a day. She is bumping him up 1 ML and wants us to do 2 ML TWICE a day. She doesn’t foresee this to cause any side affects. If it does it would only make him a tiny bit sleepy, so we will see.
We are to call her if he has any more. Other wise call her in 3 weeks to update. I think she might want to see him in June. I didn’t get to ask her about doing blood work like Dr. Gold mentioned or ask her when we are to return. She will be out of the office for a time dealing with some personal health issues of her own but there is another Dr. that can help us if we need it. Not sure how long she will be gone.
Thank you all for your prayers and hopefully we won’t have anymore incidences to bring on any “breath-holding”
