The orthodontist said that Gideon had a serious overbite and because of that his tongue was pushed back and that could possibly be causing difficulty with his speech. He talked a lot about the tonsils saying that they are restricting his breathing. That is causing him to breath through his mouth more and more, and then that is causing the overbite. He said that the first step would be to remove the tonsils and then hopefully his body will start correcting the problem when he can breath through his nose better.
Surgery is set for August 4th (next Thursday) for him to get tonsils out, tubes again (constant fluid in his ears still), and a sinus procedure to help with his breathing.
Praying for our little guy. He’s had so much in his little life!
