Baby, crib and Beds

When I heard that my niece (only 18 months) climbed out of her crib, got me wondering when I moved the boys to big boy beds, so I looked it up in the baby book (I love that I have baby books with all these records!! Sure comes in handy!)
Gregory flipped out of his crib at 21 months.  We were a little scared of that happening again. So at 21 1/2 months (so almost 2 yrs. old)  we took down the crib and up went his big boy bed.  He was so very proud to be in his bed with his ALL SPORTS (BALLS) comforter! I remember that day being very sad for me! It is a sad time, crib to bed! Means your BABY is growing up! He would rock with Mommy with a bottle for 30 mins or so and then we would lay him down for bed.
Adam started CLIMBING out of his crib December 2005 (so he was 2 years old already).  His first night in his big boy bed was December 31 2005.  We had the bunks and his was the bottom but it was really high for a two year old so we put a bar on it.  Gregory used the same bar as well, just to keep them safe and snug!
Now thinking on Luke…… When the baby comes in August Luke will still be in the crib.  Thankfully the baby will stay in with us in the bassinet for a while (6-7 months).  I’m guessing Luke will be out of the crib by the time we need it for the new baby! Time will tell!  We are thinking of getting a tiny toddler bed (maybe find a cheap one on craigslist or something).  So far none of my babies have made it past TWO by much before we moved them to the bed.  Might be nice to keep Luke cadged a little longer, but I have a feeling he’s gonna climb out before two!

We moved Brayden right at around 2.5 years. He NEVER climbed out though! He is so content and definitely a "first born" in the mindset that he doesnt try to take off or push the boundaries and still wants Mom and Dad close. I have a feeling, just because she'll have a sibling to look up too, that Paytin won't be as "kind" to us and will be the one that starts sneaking out of her crib ;)!
