It was great to get away for even just a couple days! We found a reasonable Cabin in Big Bear and really enjoyed the time! It was great to get out in God’s beautiful creation for some hiking and adventure. We did two hikes with the kids. Lots of fun. Monday’s Hike was what the boys called the LIZARD HIKE. They found so many lizards and had fun catching (and releasing of corse). They found some bugs for their bug class (They are busy pinning bugs for the fair coming up soon). Tuesday’s hike was much more fun in different ways. We did the heart rock hike in Crestline, San B. mountains. Even though the water level was low it was still fun and found water to wade in. It was sort of tough for the little guys at times (steep). We all loved the hikes! They were all pretty much “starving” after and we found a yummy Mexican restaurant on Tuesday in San Bernardino to go to.
Night Time at Big Bear….. so beautiful! Laying out on a blanket in the DARKEST of the night with the kids… THE BEST! Just getting to see the creation that God made. Breathtaking! GOD IS AN ARTIST!
We did go to some shops and did the whole “touristy” thing too and the kids loved that. We also rode the big slide and water slide down the mountain. Coming together to do family devotions in the cabin, play games, and eat meals brought lots of laughs and good times too! We needed this little break from “real life” for a couple days…. Lots of memories !
