Cabin Trip 20011

We had a much needed lovely relaxing trip to the Hatton’s Cabin this Friday through this morning. It was so nice. The creek right off the cabin was flowing so nicely! We really enjoyed our family time together. We drove up the mountain about 10 minutes to a spot we have gone sledding before and we found lots of wonderful sledding snow! All three of the boys had a blast sledding (as well and Mommy and Daddy!) We made snow slushies and had a fun picnic too. Just took in all God’s beautiful creation and the quiet life with no distractions! Luke was in awww and all he would say is “wow” to the creek and loved every minute with his brothers.

We were surprised at how he loved sledding too. Giggled the WHOLE way down.  Can’t you hear his little giggle just looking at his face here??  He’s a little “dare devil” so we shouldn’t have been surprised at how he loved it so. Adam was the dare devil when it came to sledding. Down on his tummy every time. We all got lots of exercise hiking back up in the snow! Mommy and munchkin were pretty tired after our days of sledding!

The weather was actually really nice! We ended up having to take off jackets after hiking back up from sledding. I got lots of pictures, so here is just a sample of a few and I’ll try to post a few more later with a slide show.

One of the things we had planned was to go to Whispering Waters in Sanger Ca. to go fishing (its loaded with fish) and we were gonna bring back enough for Pop to tech the boys how to clean them and BBQ them (since neither Brian or I are fishermen!) But after figuring out it might be a seasonal place and the phone number didn’t work, and it was over 2 hrs from the cabin, we decided not to take chances that it would be closed. So we hiked down to this pond area off of the creek and Adam caught his first fish ever! He was the one super excited to go fishing, so we were happy for him.  He was pretty proud as you can tell by the face! The line wasn’t in the water more than a minute and he caught one. He was the only one to catch, but we all had fun hiking around and fishing anyway. Yes, I helped him clean it, and yes he ate the WHOLE thing! It was small but yummy to his tummy! Wish we had caught more!
