Valentines 2011

We’ve been dealing with sickness in the Kraft household for a couple weeks now.  Both Gregory and Luke were on antibiotics last week.  Then on Friday Luke started throwing up.  I thought at first it was a reaction to the medication.  Nope! Not the case! Flu bug! Stomach flu is the worst sickness in my opinion! I just can’t stand to throw up or clean up throw up! Luke had several bouts with it over the weekend and then Sunday evening we thought he was pretty much OVER it and had water and some saltine crackers and seemed to feel much better after that.  Brian started feeling yucky at about 3:00 pm yesterday.  He pretty much threw up all night until 1:00 AM.  When Brian gets the stomach flu its so different than the rest of us.  He gets major cramps and says its like labor pains and he pretty much can’t do anything.  He even makes himself throw up. Something I can never do! It was so sad.  He was in so much pain and I couldn’t really help him.  Then at 12:00AM Luke woke and had thrown up (once again) all over his sheet and sleeper.  So into the bath (again).  By this time I’m totally exhausted from no sleep the night before, and really no sleep that night.  I was emotional and just a wreck! I put on toy story and put Luke in the play pen so I could lower the bar to the crib and put a fresh sheet in Luke’s bed.  Then I laid on the couch for a bit and Luke threw up again in the playpen (all over his fresh sleeper, and the playpen sheet).  By this time, I’m getting by purely on the Lord’s strength! Brian was so bummed he couldn’t help me.  He really couldn’t with the kind of pain he was in! I got Luke up and cleaned off and laid down to sleep! Thankfully he went right to sleep! I TRIED to go to sleep! Was just feeling awful and was pretty much not able to sleep.  4:00 AM came pretty quick! Luke woke and I started to nurse him when I had to stop quick and make a run to the bathroom! Darn! I was hoping I could get past it! As I was coming out of the bathroom Gregory was going in! He and I have felt the same all day! BLAH!!!  Awful feeling (pregnant, no sleep, and stomach flu)! At this point Brian was up and feeling much better! He was ready to help me out.
On to Valentines…. this memorable one……I checked my email (on my phone) from my bed at some point this morning and Brian had written me the most lovely letter! Made me tear up! I just love him so much!
So all morning Brian took over and took care of the kids, did laundry, cleaned up, helped boys with throwing up & cleaned up throw up, and got me whatever I needed.  He made me REST and stay in bed! He really showed me LOVE! What better day than to show such humble LOVE then on Valentines DAY! I know he hasn’t felt 100% today, since he’s just recovering himself!  I just really appreciate all he’s done today!
I know my WONDERFUL plans for an elegant evening were shot!  I had it all planned out and it was going to be really special!  But I just got to thinking this afternoon how Brian showed so much love to me by being a SERVANT and serving just like Jesus would and needed to share.
Then to surprise me even more….. he went to get Adam something to eat (since Adam hadn’t eaten all day… horrible Mother… I know…)  and brought me home a dozen red roses and a gift card to Olive Garden.  Although I can’t think of Olive Garden at this moment, I know we will enjoy a lovely date later this week or next!
Adam just got sick! Praying that Luke is in the clear now (he’s had it the longest!) And hoping Gregory and I are on the mend as well!  Praying for a good NIGHTS sleep!  Hopefully Adam won’t be up all night throwing up.  We all need sleep!  Oh, and another special thing…. my Mom went to the store and brought us back stuff that we needed! Included was some Popsicles that I was craving and those were the cure for me I think!  Thank you Mom , you are the best!
THANK YOU MR. BRIAN KRAFT! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY!!! HAPPY VALENTINES BABE!
