I pretty much know I’m about 5 weeks along with Munchkin #4.  I took a test on Dec. 17th and got a +  Called my Dr. and she let me go in on Monday the 20th for a Beta HCG blood test.  It was 533 and the number is suppose to double every 48 hours if the baby is growing and doing well.  So I went for a second test Wed December 22nd.   We wanted to see the numbers double so that we could feel better about sharing the news with our family on CHRISTMAS DAY! I waited all day Thursday to hear the results of that test.  I can’t say I waited very patiently either! I was not very patient at all.  Finally at the end of the day (around 4:00 pm) I sort of gave up on hearing back from my dr.  I new we were heading out with Faith and Wayne for dinner and light looking, so I just finally prayed and asked God to take my anxiety and that I would just give it to Him and have more faith that His plan would be the best (whatever that may be).  We left and had a lovely dinner.  I looked at my phone at the end of dinner to check the time and had a voice mail.  The nurse had called and said they got my test results.  The number not only DOUBLED but more than tripled 1733!! I was so excited! I know, its just a number.  However, it breaks your heart when those numbers go DOWN instead of up.  Its happened to me before (three times).  It really made me realize….. God is in control and that I didn’t need to waste my whole day worrying (which is sin on my part).  Once I gave it up to Him, I got the call!   Then on our way back my Dr. called, just making sure I got the news! She was really happy with the number too. I heard that higher numbers could mean more than one?! I kinda doubt it.

I think I’m going to the dr. on Jan. 6th and hopefully have an ultra sound shortly thereafter!

We are all really excited! I’m excited that Luke will be so close to his new brother or sister! 

I’m praying now for a normal healthy pregnancy and a safe all natural birth (just like my experience with Luke!!)
