So me and the boys decided to work on some HOMEMADE Christmas gifts (ooops some of you are getting a sneak peak of something that might be coming soon!) They are cinnamon ornaments. They smell sooooo good!! And last for YEARS!! The boys have the day off today. We are watching the girls for a little bit this morning so the cousins all walked with me to the Park, and then are all playing together 🙂
Sure does make your house smell great! Fun project too!
You just mix together 1 part cinnamon and 1 part applesauce. To get a pretty good amount you probably want to start with about 4 cups of applesauce and 4 cups of cinnamon. This will make a lot of ornaments. I buy the cinnamon at Costco or smart n final for this project. Poke a hole with a straw after cutting them with the cookie cutter for a ribbon to go in later. Let them sit out to dry and harden for several days or bake on low (about 200 degrees) for a couple hours (about 2 1/2) till dry and hard. When cooled, string ribbon through holes and tie a bow.
They smell wonderful when you hang them on your Christmas tree. (NOT EDIBLE!)
I made some for our VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS and still have them, and they STILL SMELL!!! 11 years ago!
Yay, hope some will be coming our way. I love those ornaments!
