Our chicks are starting to lay! Finally! First one today and it was from our Amerecauna chicken! GREEN EGG LAYER!! WAHOOOO! We were hoping for green eggs! Click on this one. Notice my cute little BOY’S dirty boy hands!!
Very cool. Looks like you have been busy lately. Hope we can get together soon. BJ is leaving Wednesday and will be out of town for a week. I’m participating in Relay for lIfe on Saturday this weekend. It is really neat at night they light everything up and have a band and everything. Maybe you’d want to bring the kids and walk with me??
So help us who aren’t chicken farmers, with the whole green egg thing….is this something that those kinds of chickens regularly do? Interesting…is that why you wanted that kind in particular? Do they always lay green ones? And yes, we noticed the dirty hands–anyone who really knows ME knows that what I say about that–a good sign of someone who’s been having fun!
Yes those kind of chickens always lay them. They can be more blue, more greenish or pinkish. We are glad we got blue/green ones!!! We’ve gotten 3 so far. One every other day from this hen! 🙂 No they aren’t green inside either. Just the shell that is neat!
Congratulations on the egg. I think mine used to be a little more green and not such a pretty blue green. Hope you get many more.
