Been TWO YEARS since he’s had a seizure!!! YAY GOD!!!
In March we go back in to neurologist and the plan will be to start taking him off his medication. This does make me nervous, but I know its in GODS HANDS and He will help us know we are making the right decision for Gideon Josiah.
Gideon ADORES school! I think this has helped me so much in actually sending him off to a school at such a YOUNG age. Normally I would have waited another year for preschool to start. However, for Gideon this has been so great for him. There are only 5 little kids in his class and he loves it. He says SCHOOL and gets ready so good in the mornings. Monday-Thursday 8:00-11:00 is when he goes. We can see improvement in his speech. He actually tries to repeat things we say (sometimes).
The words he says that we can understand
School
Dad
Mom
Eat
Ball
Bath
Side (for Outside)
Ba Ba (bottle)
No
and he’s trying other words too…. not clear….
Pop
Granma
On this reading app we have, he tries to repeat when they sound out words, which has been neat to see.
Titus
Luke
I’m sure I’m missing some……
Gideon can be a challenge for sure. For all of us. He whines a lot. Its hard because he can’t communicate well so he gets frustrated which means crying and he’s a loud cryer, and this can pull on your nerves at times. He’s still in diapers (this is gross at times… going on 3 1/2). He doesn’t just follow when we walk, often times he wants to be carried. He’s heavy. He will cry and just STAND there if you don’t get him. This is tough! Titus will even follow but he won’t (most of the time).
He can be the most cuddly guy. He loves books and we read a lot. He loves nap and bed time and seems to go well most of the time. He’s still in a crib because he’s comfortable there and doesn’t like change very much. For us, at this point, it works and we are fine with him still being in the crib. Gideon LOVES bath time! Its fun for him and he loves taking them with brothers too. He can be so caring and show concern for others. We love to see this shine out in him.
