Luke is a special little boy! Love him dearly, as I do all my boys! He is a thinker. Like his daddy and his biggest brother Gregory. He is also one that speaks it like it is and is bossy at times too! He’s got a good mix! He has big “ears” too and I know he thinks and maybe worries sometimes. This can make me sad when I see that look in his face. I noticed it yesterday.
Luke Samuel has always had this bond with my dad (and mom really). Its unique. Different than any of my others. He loves them so much and it shows in so many ways when he talks at home. Pop’s health seems to be going more and more down hill at times and this is tough on Luke to see. Luke doesn’t say anything but comments here and there and I see his face. He wants to see Pop up and going.
I noticed it yesterday a lot. He went down to get scrap wood to work on stuff and Pop had planned to go to shop but couldn’t get out there. Luke could see him trying to get out of his chair but couldn’t. Luke had wanted to spend time with him in the workshop as he often does. Pop has fallen several times (at least once a month for a while now) and doesn’t get out and go as he used too. He has a lot of health issues and we all are sad to see this Season of his life and just pray that things will get a little better for him! I know Luke and everyone would be OVERJOYED to see Pop up and around and about. I’m just not sure that will happen. I’m not giving up that hope and faith that God can do anything, I’m just not sure its what God will have happen or not.
Luke came on home yesterday to work, but all through the day was back and fourth from home to Pop/Granma’s. He does this often as well but yesterday it just seemed like more. He even packed a lunch for him and Pop to eat together. He said “I’ll just go and be wherever Pop wants to have lunch”.
I think its so sweet that he loves them so much! I sure hope they don’t mind him POPPING in as much as he does! I was getting a little worried there by dinner time when he wanted to take his plate to eat dinner with Pop and Granma too!!! My Mom found this adorable book called Medicine Pie and it so fits their relationship! Its a story of a little bunny and his mom wanted him to bring this pie to Grandma to make her feel better….. it wasn’t a REAL medicine pie….. the medicine was the boy bunny coming to see Grandma….that’s what made her feel better. All through the book Mom glued pictures of Luke and them. I have so many stories of Luke heading down to Pop and Granma’s. I think the first one was him at 16 months walking down to have POP peel him tangerines, he needed Pop to do it!
I hope he always remembers! I really do! I don’t see how he can’t actually.

This is so true. Luke was always popping in we turned around and there he was. Now that pop is gone I guess those were some of the best times for Pop when Luke came in and spent time with him. Breaks my heart that he doesn't have him anymore. Of course, we know where he is and it's a much better place. when Luke came in and spent time with him. Breaks my heart that he doesn't have him anymore. Of course, we know where he is and it's a much better place. Luke will have those memories and pictures for a lifetime. Pop made a huge impact on Luke & me too. I love him an Pop did too. 💞
