Day in the life

I haven’t done this in a while but want to record this just for fun……
Some people think mom’s sit around, sleep in, eat bon bon’s all day, watch TV, and just play with the kids.

Some time in the wee morning hours my baby girl is yelling from her crib “MOMMY”….. Daddy normally runs in to get her before she wakes the rest of the household.  She then snuggles in bed with us and nurses (yes I still nurse her).  She will sometimes sleep with us or sometimes I will put her back into her bed.

6:00 or 6:30 little ones start waking up and we have to get going too. On practice mornings Brian is up at 5:30 to be out the door at 5:45 for practice.

6:30-7:25 get myself ready, lunches made for Gregory and Luke, Breakfast for all (various things each morning), serve up supplements/medicine that various children need, get kids dressed (sometimes Daddy will help with this before he heads out the door at 7:00, he will make our bed too, which is a great thing for me!)

7:25 loaded up to drop off Luke first (right up the street), then to go to the office and drop off Gideon (Brian will walk him down to his class at 8:00) and Gregory walks from there to the High School across the street.
Adam stays at home with Titus.  At home he is to be tidying up the kitchen from Breakfast, and putting away clean dishes.  He is also to tidy up his bedroom.

When I arrive at home, I unload Annie Mae.  Come inside.  Finish cleaning up the kitchen.

8:00 Annie Mae still takes a morning nap.  I read, rock and nurse her a little and then lay her down.  Sometimes she doesn’t.  Sometimes she does.  8:00-10:00

Now, on to getting Adam started for the day….. reminding him what he has to do.  Help him get set up.

8:15-10:00 My time to get things cleaned up in the house.  Pick up, clean, vacuum, laundry, sweep, mop, or do some of my deep cleaning projects (clean out clothes, book nook, inside cabinets etc…) Also, this is my time with Titus to do some preschool things.  Often we will read books, do crafts, play dough, writing, songs, activities.

10:00 Annie Mae is up.  We all play.  I’m still doing house chores and guiding Adam along (these things don’t really STOP all day long…. ha!)

11:10 Brian and Gideon are coming home for lunch.  I try to have it all ready when they get home (in a perfect world! HA)… they eat.  Brian and I TRY to get a few quiet movements to visit while I’m rocking Annie Mae for her nap.

Gideon normally naps on my bed and he waits for me to come in to read to him.  I’m rocking Annie Mae, that is why he waits for me.  Titus naps on his bed normally. Sometimes its switched up a little.
Brian typically leaves at like 12:10, I lay Annie Mae down.  All is quiet (in a perfect world….)… Often I will have to tell them to go on to sleep and stop talking.  Gideon settles down once I read with him and hold him while he goes off to sleep.  They all are tired and need the nap still.

12:30 they are all asleep.  Sometimes up by 1:30 but sometimes will sleep till 3:00.  Depends on the day! Today its almost 2 and they aren’t up yet!

During quiet time I like to try to do my Bible study and pray to God.  If I didn’t get that time in the morning (sometimes if i am up earlier I will get to do it then…. always depends on the night).

2:10 Brian drops off Luke from school.
We visit about the day.  He will work on homework, go out to play or rest a little.

3:00 for sure all are up.  I’m working on dinner.

3:40 Brian is home.  He helps play with the kids while I work on dinner, or take a shower

4:30 or 5:00 Dinner as a family (basketball game days this is a little messed up…)

5:00-6:45 play outside, play with kids, clean up from dinner, finish up laundry, kids baths

6:45 We try to start reading books, devotion, brush teeth etc.. during this time

7:15 kids in bed  Brian normally goes to the BOY ROOM to help settle them down and sometimes tickle Luke’s back.  Hopefully they are OUT within 20 min.

8:00 rocking Annie Mae.  Lay her down.
By 9:00 normally (but sometimes EARLIER) is our time (Brian and I) to sit visit, watch TV (sometimes only to drift off on the couch together, only to wake up and head on to our bed).

Nursing my baby girl

Organized the kid book nook
