Feeling overwhelmed at times these days so I MUST clear my mind……….. ha ha…….
My heart aches so much these days for my sweet Adam and trying to figure how we can BEST help him. He’s loving his new school. Seems happy to GO and when he comes home he’s happy about the day (for the most parts). However, we talked to his teacher Mrs. Larsen. She’s seeing now his Attention and focus issues. He was sad the other day in class and finally admitted to her that he was OVERWHELMED with the work and finishing. He’s gets down on himself and feels defeated if he gets too much. So, together we decided to lighten up his load and do the minimum requirement for his math and a few things that were getting him overwhelmed. He looses focus easy. He’s not sleeping good.
We did food allergy testing and really the test came back that he is MILDLY allergic to a few things. Dr. Gold didn’t really think any of the things were really that bad at all. .35 and lower is like none and the he was .7 -.9 on a few things (wheat, peanuts, sesame, corn……) However, we are thinking that some of the foods with GMO’s, preservatives etc… might be some of Adam’s issues. We are thinking we might start trying to do better with what we buy (even breads that have those things in them). We already try to do organic meats when we can, milk and some cheese and TRY to follow the dirty dozen rule. It is hard and not easy but we are thinking this might benefit all of us really. I really don’t want to become OCD about all this myself, but we are just trying to educate ourselves and figure if there might be any correlation.
We have another psychiatrist appt. coming up. The medication Adam is on now has really truly helped his OCD. However, his issues with attention, focus and overwhelming feelings have almost gotten worse the past couple weeks! So maybe a different kind of medication will help Adam with both? We are also going to try some essential oil that MIGHT help him focus more during the day and maybe help him SLEEP better at night. He’s still not sleeping well.
Brian and I are reading “The Heart of Anger” and its really helping us see areas we need to work on in parenting in order to help Adam. I wish we could ready faster and get through it quicker. Maybe they have an audio version?
I’d love to find a good Godly counselor for Adam but honestly with his school cost and medical expenses I don’t think we can afford it. Praying we can just do the best job we can for him.

Mom had a good knee surgery and is recovering well. The pain can be bad at times. Faith and Eden came and have been here to help. They leave on Thurs.
We found a SPRINGFREE trampoline on craigslist !!! It’s not the 11 by 11 square one, but its an older model of a 12ft circle one (they don’t sell this one anymore because the squares were more popular). We are getting it for $275. This is an AWESOME deal for a 3-4 yr old one. We will be buying replacement rods and going to pick it up on Sat. Its 2 hrs away. Its not exactly what we were hoping for but for that price we will see how we like having one and then perhaps save for the “better one”. The boys are beyond excited since they have been waiting since JUNE!
Can’t believe Gregory is in 8th grade…….. actually his 8th grade is almost over?! YIKES! Just love this kid!! He’s amazing!
Luke is coughing again! He must have allergies!! ?
Gideon has the sweetest personality these days! He’s the sweetest thing! LOVE HIM!
Titus is teething! He’s the sweetest guy!
Brian……… the best! Truly! 🙂
So thankful for your updates! Praying for Adam. How exciting about the trampoline! Brayden and Paytin would love going on that too! We're looking over some food changes ourselves, weighing in the cost idea and not going crazy over it too.
Also, have you looked into air purifiers? We just started using one last week and Paytin hasn't had an attack in over 5 days! We borrowed one from a friend because they can be a bit pricey. Then we found one on sale ($25) for her room. We're going to buy one of the larger ones ($100) for the entire downstairs next month. It's really helped with allergy/nebulizer type things and I noticed the cold I got wasn't as bad either!
Would love to facetime with you guys, Brayden's been asking a LOT lately about his "boy cousins" 🙂 Love you all! (And thanks for the picture, got it yesterday in the mail!) Oh wait…this kind of turned into an email and not a comment 😉
