Gross

Although we are truly thankful for our home. There are times we have major issues living in an OLD house (water off, no water pressure, leaky basement, mold, dust and now major plumbing etc..) We love it though and would not trade the location for one in town (unless we had too) .

We’ve been having PLUMBING issues lately. Flush the potty and it bubbles up in the bathtub along with some lovely black sewage stuff that stinks! Run the water in the sink and it bubbles up in the toilet. Flush and it doesn’t go down right! So today we figured out that we needed something pumped. We had to find an old map drawn in pencil in the 60’s and figure out where the cesspools were. We have two of them. We don’t even have a septic system here, its those old cesspools that they used to put in when house were built a long time ago. Which they do not use now days.

We had a company from Santa Paula come out today and pump it, and it was terrible! Been backing up for years. We had no idea. The smell is dreadful as well, and fills our home this afternoon! YUCK! Our water pressure is always HORRIBLE so its taking him a long time to get it pumped. It’s getting dark here so he’s going to have to come back Monday to pump the other one, since we have two of them.

We are going to buy some acid to dump in the big hole and then let the landlord know we might need to upgrade soon since this one is really not in that great of shape at all and can be a liability for her. Either that or what we think the landlord will want to do is to put a deck type thing in the back which will make it safer in case it caves in one day (hopefully that will never happen)!

Those are the adventures for our Thanksgiving weekend!
