The plumbing issues are back! The cesspools are filled again and causing major issues with flushing, running water etc…. Which means using shower and toilet are limited! (Thanks Hope for letting us use yours today and my Mom letting me use hers yesterday).
Basically what this means is that our cesspool is messed up and we need a FRESH NEW SEPTIC tank which could be anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 plus the cost of permits etc… All this the land lord would have to do. She’s not real willing to spend a cent! We told her we needed it pumped again so we could just use the basics (shower, bath, toilet etc…) for at least a few weeks (if that), and she seemed to think the guy should come pump it for FREE. Where she comes off thinking that…. I do not know!?
Meantime, we are sort of stuck and dealing with this mess. The fumes today and yesterday were just awful. I got a huge headache from the whole thing and I’m sure its not the best to breathe in! Not to mention the back yard and the grass full of muck and the kids can’t go out there and play now. So we really need God to step in and show us what to do!
We have been active in searching for a house. We went to see three and none were good. They all had TONS of repair work and would cost a small fortune to fix up. So pray that God will show us what we need to do for our family!

Oh Spring! I'm so sorry! My heart goes out to you guys! The issues with your house sound terrible & then to not have a supportive landlord would make it even worse. I don't blame you guys one bit for wanting to move & thinking about how to make that happen. I know how much you love the country & I will pray that the Lord give you the desires of your heart! (although, I know that you know it is important to let HIM choose & to be flexible). We are house hunting too, so I know what you mean by "if you are buying something you need it to feel right & be at peace". We have been looking for a house for a few months now & haven't found the "right one". I think I am expecting to walk into a place & just go, "wow, this is it!", but that hasn't happened yet. Anyway, I will pray that you guys are BOTH able to clearly see what the Lord wants you to do! Keep me posted!
We went to look at a house yesterday. Its a “short sale” so its a little more waiting and difficult according to the realtor. However, this house is something we could afford. It would ONLY be like $100 something MORE a month than what we pay for RENT now. It has three bedrooms and 2 baths.
When I got home last night I wasn’t too thrilled (ask Brian). However, I feel like God might be giving me more and more peace about the whole thing. For sure this isn’t my IDEAL. I have always desired to raise my family in the COUNTRY and this is not! Brian made a good point though, we can be a witness to neighbors and the community and maybe God wants us there for a reason…. so please pray…
The house does need work before we can move in. Everything!! needs to be painted. It needs carpet too. It needs other things as well but things we can do as we live there. So it would be a lot of work to move in. Someone from church already suggested having a work day and having lots of people come to HELP! That would be awesome!
Will you PLEASE PRAY that God will let it all work out if it be his will. So far there has been two offers on the place but no one has offered the asking price, which we CAN do!! I would think they would take the asking price over a lower one, however… we want God’s will.
