Santa Paula Oil Museum Field Trip

Gregory’s third grade class got to go to the Santa Paula Oil Museum. Pretty neat. Surprised I hadn’t been there! Our favorite part was going upstairs and seeing the way the offices looked 100 years ago! It was really neat. Gregory, I’m so glad I got to go with you! Fun memories! 🙂
I got to ride with Gregory on the bus.
Best buds! (Bruke, Ian and Gregory)
Before they changed the name to Union Oil it was Hardison and Stewart refinery.
This is how they got oil in the 1800’s. It was pretty cool to watch it.
I loved the cash register 🙂
In each office upstairs there was a fire place. They didn’t have heaters back then to heat the whole building. Nor did they have electricity. They used the oil burning lamps.
We are related to WALLACE HARDISON. My mom’s maiden name is Hardison. He came from Maine. He was on the presidents of the Union Oil company.
We walked up the street to see some statues. This is a statue of some motorcycle police who went through the town warning people to get out of their house when the st. Francis dam broke. Water was on the way. We got a class picture in front.
