Our Garden on Good Friday!

We got it all planted today! The rain stayed away. We had 70 percent chance of rain and haven’t seen a drop as of yet!
We planted:
Green beans (pole kinds)
Butter Beans (colored)
White Sweet Corn
Beets
sweet onions
tomatoes (lots, 75)
cherry tomatoes
Cucumber
Yellow squash
Green squash
two kinds of basil
crowder peas
catnip
sweet, mild, hot peppers
Anaheim green peppers
jalapenos
egg plants

Down the lemon orchard:
Watermelon
(some will get up to 200lbs)
Cantaloupe
more corn (100 yds long)

Me, Gregory, Adam, three of our worker Ladies and Joaquin planted today.

Most of the stuff we planted was seeds. But we planted little plants of tomatoes, some of the squash, onions, & peppers.

The boys went behind Joaquin and dropped in 3 beans in each hole.

The boys and I rode in the back of Pop’s truck down to where we were going to put in the Mellon’s. The boys had a lot of fun hanging their feet over riding in the back of the truck! After our garden day we went with Pop to Olive Garden for lunch! Yum! Thanks Pop! Had a fun good Friday!

Such cute boys in their little ORGANIC AG shirts! 🙂

Tonight we’ll be watching the PASSION and reflecting on this special day and what our Savior did for us!

Sounds like a fun day getting the garden going! Glad you didn’t get any rain today 🙂

I never did see the Passion of the Christ.

Really Sarah, you and Brian ought to rent it and watch it !

I asked Brian and he has already seen it…I’m just not always that into movies all the time I guess so I never went to see it 😛

I bet that you had some pretty dirty boys after all of that planting! I hope that all of the crops turn out well for you. That is a nice plot of land.

Are you going to have Adam watch the movie? I have only seen clips but I usually do not watch any violent movies, no matter what the subject.I don’t think that I could have Ben watch it until he is WAY older.

Yup they were pretty dirty but had so much fun! Adam said tonight "I think the garden is starting to grow"

Ya know we debated about watching the movie all together. Brian and I don't watch rated R movies ever! Just a conviction of ours. This is rated R because of the blood and violence towards Jesus. The boys do not watch rated R movies or PG 13 and we are careful about the things they see. Because this is a true story in the Bible we got this movie.

Gregory watched with us last year. Although we always cover the eyes for some parts and forward a couple. We did the same for Adam tonight.

They both KNOW the truth and the TRUE Easter story, I don't ever leave any of it out even though it was a horrible death for our Savior and all the stuff he went through before he died. I want them to know the truth & how He suffered for us. And yes, they can know the truth by just reading the Bible or having it read to them. However, This movie showed and brought to life the true pain that He suffered.

I don't care to try to explain the "devilish person" in the movie, and the symbolism of that so we forward those parts. They can watch those parts when they are older and can understand what is up with that. And me and the boys cover our eyes for some of the very sad and bloody scenes.

So in answer to your question. Yes and No.
