Can hardly believe this little guy will be here in hopefully LESS than 4 weeks!
The Dr. thinks I might have Gestational Diabetes by the way the baby is measuring ( a little big) and by my blood sugar numbers. I’m going to see a Diabetic Doctor on Monday to see what he thinks. Most likely they will give me a more strict diet to follow and just monitor my blood sugar levels.
Basically Gestational diabetes starts when your body is not able to make and use all the insulin it needs for pregnancy. Without enough insulin, glucose cannot leave the blood and be changed to energy. Glucose builds up in the blood to high levels. This is called hyperglycemia.
I think the main thing the Doctor is concerned about is the size of the baby. They tend to be on the larger size.
We are praying that all will be fine and that I can monitor the sweets and carbs for these next few weeks!
So far I haven’t dilated at all yet, but the baby is head down!
I had Aly at 36 weeks… so crazy to think you are "there"! But, hopefully you will go at least another few weeks. Don't want him to come until he is ready!
