Another boy finds Jesus

1 Peter 3:18 “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. “

With Brian’s grandfather passing away, it sure brought about a lot of discussion around our house about heaven, hell, salvation, God, and Jesus these past couple weeks. Adam was especially interested and had many questions for Brian and I. We love watching the wheels turn in Adam’s head, but don’t always know what is going on.

After the funeral on Monday we headed back home and stopped at a hotel. While I was in the restroom Adam was talking with Daddy about God. He asked “Will we know God forever and ever”? Brian went on to explain that if we truly believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, raised again and we admit we are sinners, seek the Lord, and ask Him to be Lord of our life…. we will know God forever and ever. As I walked into the room I heard Adam say “I want to do that”. He wanted to pray to God and ask the Lord to be his Savior! It was so precious. No prompting from us parents, just explanation, and he asked to receive the Lord. He prayed in that hotel room and asked Jesus to be his Savior! It was exciting and special. John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.

On the way home I was talking with Adam and it went something like this:

Mommy: “Adam if you were to stand in front of Jesus up in heaven and Jesus asked you, why should I let you in, what would you tell him”?

Adam: “Because I know Jesus”

Mommy: “What did Jesus do for you?”

Adam: “He saved me from my sins”

Mommy: “How did he do that”?

Adam: “He died for me and took my sins away, so that I can live in heaven with him someday”.

Now we just pray that God will grow him, teach him, and lead him. And that we as Parents can help him learn and grow in his fresh new walk with the Lord.

Romans 5:6-8
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.7For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Phil. 3:9
I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

John 6:40
For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”
