Good Behavior date with my ‘lil Adam James

For the past couple months we’ve had a chart that Adam gets to put stickers on when we catch him having good behavior, good attitude, obedience the first time, self control, etc.  Adam needs an extra push and little incentive.  Thanks to a good friend for the idea of the chart/stickers.  We’ve been working on this for a while and the chart has been very helpful.  No, he’s not perfect, but he’s trying hard and doing very well.  For our date he picked Firefly Ceramics and Olive Garden.  So after the kids got out of school early today.  We got Luke down for his afternoon nap and Gregory babysat him until Brian got home (so nice that Gregory can babysit for short times already).  Then we were off.  We went to FIRE FLY in Ventura and we each made a plate.  Adam did a really nice job.  I decided to make a BIRTHDAY plate.  I’ve seen them in catalogs before.  A special plate that only the “birthday kid” gets on their birthday, for a special breakfast or dinner.  Adam said he couldn’t wait for his Birthday so he could use the plate.  We won’t get our plates for a week, because they have to “fire” them and put the glaze on them.  We had such a fun time.  After wards we went to OLIVE GARDEN for a nice dinner.  One thing I dislike about Olive Garden is they don’t always have the item you got before on the menu.  Adam knows of Olive Garden because he always gets my leftovers after Brian and I return from a date.  So, he wanted what I always get (I can’t think of the name of it).  They didn’t have it.  So… we got something similar and it ended up being so good! We shared a plate, salad and bread and of course got the peach tea and we enjoyed our date very much!  I loved our one on one talks.  Taking just ONE kid out is so special and memories made!
