Updates on the KraftyGang

  • Awana started up at a different church in Moorpark.  Gregory is in T and T (his last year).  Adam is in Sparks.  Brian felt led to be a leader since they really needed men leaders.  So he’s missing Men’s study on Thursday nights in order to be a leader.  He thinks it will be lots of fun.  I’m staying home with the two little guys on Thursday nights.
  • Decided not to attend the Women’s study this year at our church.  Instead I’m continuing with my Bible study and getting “together” online with a few special gals.  We have a blog Bible study and just started going through 1 John.  I love this group and we gather for prayer on wed. mornings.  So neat to have an accountability group to stay in the Word and have a close knit group to pray with! I feel so close to all these gals even though we don’t physically meet, and we aren’t all in California either! Maybe someday we’ll get together!
  • I am enjoying a great study with Mom and Hope.  We are going through a book called “give them grace…”  We have had some pretty good discussions.
    • Two years ago I was in a car accident while I was pregnant with Luke Samuel.  The other guy’s insurance wasn’t being cooperative at all so I had to use a lawyer (same guy I used the last accident, when the guy didn’t even have insurance).  Anyway, I finally got my settlement for that case.  I still have trouble with my back, this will probably be an ongoing thing, and sure don’t care to drive much! However, it was nice to finally settle up! We decided to get a couple things we wouldn’t normally be able to afford right now.  A new bed for us (we got a tempurpedic)  which really helps with my back and Brian’s too, and a new couch.  The couch will be able to fit more of us on it.  Did a lot of research and thinking on both.  Excited for the new couch coming Thursday.  Our old couch of 12 + years is really worn out and we really thought we should upgrade to something better suited for our growing family. I’ll post pictures once it comes this week.
      • I’m excited to start back walking.  We got some gift money and saved up to get our new double stroller.  It’s coming in the mail soon! I sure hope Gideon will ENJOY walking, like Luke does!! I’ve missed it and need to get out and exercise.
        • Brian enjoyed his Men’s Retreat last weekend.  I’m glad he was able to go.  We all sure missed him.  Let’s just say I’m soooo incredibly blessed to have Brian.  I missed him so much and its sooo hard to do anything without him! I think he missed us too 🙂
          • Gregory has been doing some babysitting for us lately.  He’s growing up!! We don’t leave Gideon but he’s been doing great with Luke Samuel! We are gonna try to get to a movie this week and Gregory will get to babysit for a longer span.  It is nice to have my Mom “on call” for an emergency since she lives one door down.

          • I entered a photo contest and will hear if I am a winner the end of October.  Its fun to try, even if I don’t win.  My mom just told me of another contest that I’m gonna try to go for too. Figured if I do win anything I’d set that money aside to upgrade my camera someday 🙂

          • Basketball sign ups are this week! Gregory wants to play again this year.  🙂
          • Ok, my break is over.  I didn’t get to nap today.  It was nice watching Dick Van Dyke with Adam while I cleared my brain and typed this out 🙂

So much going on!! 🙂 I think I was about 11 or 12 when I started to babysit…watched a couple girls that lived next door to us. It was fun but nice to have mom around in case for sure, so definitely a great growing up thing for Gregory to do while still having his Granma practically next door! Excited for you guys for your new bed…we love our tempurpedic! I hope it will help ease some, if not all of your back pain. Love you guys!
